Practical Uses of
the Carpáthia Express:
All types of shipments from different domestic as well as
foreign senders addressed to recipients in Romania or other
countries, normally forwarded by road, can be diverted to
rail transport.
Load (transloading) stations would redirect cargo via nearby
logistic station to the nearest direct train, forward the
relevant information to the train operator, who calculates
the total weight of the cargo and determines the admissible
cargo capacity at the point of dispatching, i.e. Havlíčkův
Brod. Simultaneously, instructions are issued and distributed
to stations along the route (Brno-Maloměřice and Břeclav),
where the train is replenished with additional cargo as per
capacity.
The following types of cargo are inadmissible for transport
via Carpáthia Express:
- Military cargo
- Empty private vehicles
- INTERFRIGO shipments
- Shipments exceeding the loading gauge limit
- Live cargo.
